KAUST Professor Shuyu Sun received the SPE Recognition Award for serving exceptionally well as Student Chapter Faculty Advisor

On July 26, 2013, Dr. Shuyu Sun received the SPE Recognition Award for serving exceptionally well as the Faculty Advisor of the KAUST SPE Student Chapter.  Please click here [advisorCerti_scanToAuto.pdf] to see the certificate of the Recognition Award.  Dr. Shuyu Sun is is a founding faculty member jointly appointed by the program of Earth Sciences and Engineering (ErSE) and the program of Applied Mathematics and Computational Science (AMCS) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).  He is currently the Head (PI) of the Computational Transport Phenomena Laboratory (CTPL) at KAUST, and a world expert in computational modeling and simulation of subsurface flow and transport.  Professor Sun has served as the the Faculty Advisor of the KAUST SPE Student Chapter since its inception in 2010, and under his supervision, the KAUST SPE Student Chapter has winned a number of regional and international student competitions lately.  As a follow-up news, The King Abdullah University of Science & Technology SPE Chapter has been selected to receive the 2014 Outstanding Student Chapter Award (OSC).  Please see the attached letter [OSC 2014 President Letter King Abdullah.pdf]  from the SPE President.
